One-Stop Solutions for Superior Building Decoration Materials - A-Diffusion
1. Preparation
Prepare tiles, tile adhesive/cement mortar, notched trowel, level, rubber mallet, masking tape, grout and other tools & materials; cut tiles in advance according to the size of the laying area (avoid small cut pieces gathering at corners).
2.Base Layer Treatment:
Clean dust, oil stains and hollow areas on the wall/floor; if the base layer flatness error is >3mm, level it with cement mortar; spray water to moisten the wall before laying (to improve adhesion).
3.Snap Line Positioning
Use a chalk line to snap horizontal and vertical lines, marking the reference for tile laying; plan the layout according to tile size (e.g., lay whole tiles first at door/window openings to ensure visual neatness).
4.Mixing & Application
Stir tile adhesive/cement mortar until there are no particles and it is paste-like (let it stand for 5 minutes, then stir again); use a notched trowel to evenly apply it on the base layer along the reference line (thickness 5-8mm, trowel tooth depth matches tile size).
5. Tile Laying
Press the tile lightly on the adhesive layer, tap the four corners with a rubber mallet (ensure tight fit without hollowing); check flatness with a level, error ≤1mm; leave 2-3mm expansion gaps between adjacent tiles (prevent cracking from thermal expansion).
6. Gap Treatment
24 hours after laying, clean stains on the tile surface; use a grout gun to fill gaps with grout (full without gaps); when the grout is semi-dry, wipe off residual grout with a damp sponge.
7. Curing & Protection
Avoid stepping on or getting water on the grout after filling; cure naturally for 3-5 days; cover with a protective film during curing (prevent dust pollution or external damage).
二、Tile Laying Precautions
1.Before Laying
Check tile batches: Use tiles from the same batch in the same area (avoid color difference);
Soak tiles (only for tiles with water absorption rate >10%): Soak until no bubbles appear, then fish out and drain (prevent hollowing caused by tiles absorbing moisture from the adhesive layer).
2.During Laying
Adhesive layer to be mixed and used immediately: Tile adhesive/cement mortar must be used within 2 hours after mixing (avoid solidification and failure);
Adjust deviations in time: If tiles are tilted or hollow, re-lay them before the adhesive layer solidifies (within 1 hour).
3.After Laying
Prohibit early use: Do not roll heavy objects on the floor within 7 days after laying; do not hang heavy objects on the wall within 10 days after laying;
Cleaning taboos: Do not scratch the tile surface with sharp tools; clean stains with neutral detergent (prevent corrosion of tiles or grout).
